German-Sri Lanka Friendship Hospital for Women in Galle is the largest maternity hospital in South Asia, offering state-of-the-art healthcare services to women in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province supported by the German government and constructed by Premium International, and it is the symbol of quality healthcare services in the region.
Project description
The German-Sri Lanka Friendship Hospital for Women in Galle, situated in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province, is a state-of-the-art facility that offers comprehensive maternity and gynecology healthcare services to the local female population. It has a capacity of 640 beds, making it the largest maternity hospital in South Asia, and offers 800 patient treatment facilities at the Outpatient Department (OPD) and clinics.
The hospital is a response to the destruction caused by the 2004 tsunami and is a result of the generous support of the German government through the KfW development bank, bought by late chancellor Helmut Kohl. Premium International is responsible for supplying and installing the necessary equipment, including Central Sterile Supply, Laundry Department, Kitchen, Healthcare Waste, Mortury, Laboratory and Blood Bank Equipment.
The hospital’s objective is to provide safe and effective maternity care services to the women of Southern Province and help them bring new life into the world in a clean and safe environment. Thanks to the support of the German government and the efforts of Premium International, the German-Sri Lanka Friendship Hospital for Women in Galle is set to become a beacon of hope and a symbol of the region’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to its citizens.
Premium was responsible for Civil Rectification and Building Modification of the entire hospital.
